Steven Bartlett and Davina McCall appear at Leeds festival

Leeds International Festival of Ideas launched last night with keynote discussions led by Steven Bartlett and Davina McCall.

The 4 day festival is described as a “metropolitan celebration of new ideas and innovation.”

This year’s event has 39 speakers and is expected to attract audiences in excess of 5000.

It all kicked off with Social Chain founder, Steven Bartlett talking about “A New Generation of Entrepreneurship” alongside host Anisa Morridadi.

At the same time, Cherry Healey hosted a panel debate with Davina McCall, Dr. Christine Ekechi, Gabby Jahanshahi-Edlin, Ethan Kenny Jones and Lauren Mahon.

They discussed the inequality and underrepresentation women face in healthcare services, as well as the poor treatment of women facing menopause, endometriosis, conditions related to infertility and gynaecological problems.

Audiences will also hear from Christopher Eccleston, Dame Prue Leith, Ruby Wax OBE, Rob Rinder and Will Young.
