Lime Pictures, the Liverpool producer behind hits such as Hollyoaks, The Only Way is Essex and Brookside has registered turnover of over £100m during the latest financial year.
Its latest results, for the year to December 31 2022, show a turnover of £100.9m for 2022, up from the £63.3m in 2021. Pre-tax profits fell from £5.2m to £3m over the same period.
US turnover logged a particularly impressive spike, from £443,019 to £22.7m, over a 50x jump. UK turnover increased from £62.8m to £78m, and European turnover rose from £102,136 to £180,94. The company also reported a net cash position of £13.4m.
The company was first founded by Grange Hill and Brookside creator Sir Phil Redmond as Mersey Television in 1982. It is now one of around 40 production and distribution companies owned by Warner Bros Discovery and Liberty Global brand All3Media.
All3Media was recently the subject of speculation over an ITV takeover, and reportedly remains on the market after that deal fell through.
