Lambert Smith Hampton has been hired by the BBC to dispose of its lease on Bridge House in MediaCityUK.
The property is where BBC Children’s and Education, and some BBC Sport and operations staff, are currently based and the BBC announced last November that it would be leaving the building as part of ongoing reforms to “deliver a simpler, leaner and more efficient organisation.” The moves are expected to be completed in the spring of 2024.
Stephen Wild, managing director of MediaCity said at the time: “Over the years the BBC has grown its commitment to MediaCity and is continuing to do so, however, we recognise that our occupiers are adapting their ways of working and, as such, we have responded with the expansion of our flexible workspace ARRIVE. Likewise, we’ll work with our partners at the BBC in streamlining their floor space at MediaCity. Working and operating from a sustainable environment is a priority and our occupiers benefit from MediaCity being one of the most highly sustainable destinations in the UK.”
Adam Robson, director – transactional services at Lambert Smith Hampton, said: “As one of the most prominent buildings at MediaCity, Bridge House offers an excellent opportunity for a new occupier to take its place in the UK’s leading digital and media hub.
“With a high-specification, large floorplates, plug and play capabilities and a waterfront location, we are anticipating significant demand for the space.”
