The signs are good for Manchester City FC’s biodiversity, thanks to Hopeful Studio

Manchester City FC took the opportunity during the recent closed season to team up with Niche and Hopeful Studio on a series of biodiversity-related initiatives.

Since opening its training complex back in 2016 the club has worked hard to enhance the landscape for wildlife and wanted to communicate this positive story to stakeholders.

The brief was to design and install three large signs that convey information about a range of different habitats and species found on the site and will serve as stopping points as part of walking tours that take place throughout the year. Enhancing biodiversity is important, but educating people about nature and providing opportunities to learn about it and get closer to it is also vitally important to addressing global biodiversity loss.

Brand-led, creative and eye-catching information boards that use colourful illustrations and content are an effective way to engage visitors, and the new designs provided by Hopeful Studio, with environmental authoritative content provided by Niche, have started what will become a site-wide biodiversity learning platform where Man City stakeholders, including those working with the club’s charity City in the Community, will be able to explore the nature on site.

Daniel Lewis, landscape contract manager, Manchester City Football Club, said: “We were looking for some signage to communicate to internal users the biodiversity work we have been doing at Man City. We found a solution in Hopeful Studio, who were able to take us through the design process and provided us with an outstanding product that has been very well received.”
