Manchester-based healthcare communications group Havas Lynx has launched a new specialist agency called Havas Lynx Medical.
The new agency, which will also be based in Manchester, will provide education to health professionals and facilitate the exchange of scientific information between the clinical and pharmaceutical communities.
A total of 10 staff, out of the 150 based in Manchester overall, will work for the new agency.
Dr Nick Broughton, who has 17 years’ industry experience and is also a director of Pharmaceuticalethics.com, will lead the new agency’s development as medical director.
He said: “Good medical education and scientific exchange creatively delivered has the chance to make those little differences to clinical practice that can improve the life of individual patients. It’s that fact and the opportunity to innovate to make it happen that meant this role was something that was too good to miss.”
David Hunt, Havas Lynx’s newly appointed CEO, added: “We recognised very early on that medical education is a very competitive arena and that if we couldn’t offer something new we shouldn’t enter it.
“Nick’s clinical perspective coupled with his industry experience, our digital pedigree and the enthusiasm of the team we have recruited convince us that Havas Lynx Medical will deliver a step change in medical education.”
Havas Lynx was formed last November out of what was originally known as Euro RSCG Life 4D, based in New York, and Manchester’s Creative Lynx.
It employs over 250 people between its offices in Manchester, New York and London.
