The Gate Films has teamed up with Story Group to produce the 2023 Macmillan Coffee Morning national campaign, which is live nationwide now.
The campaign is based around a simple, accessible thought: “Let’s do Coffee” which serves as a rallying call to action. The advert was shot across Manchester, incorporating Coffee Mornings at homes, workplaces, community sports centres and Marks and Spencer.
This year’s Coffee Morning is on Friday, September 29, however while on the shoot The Gate organised the first unofficial Coffee Morning of the year with the crew, donating over £1,750 whilst on set.
Creative director Rich Payne and creative head Ross Seabury at Story said: “It’s no exaggeration to say that the Gate pulled out all the stops. A fantastic wider crew, coupled with a director and producer pairing who, from day one, understood and interpreted the many nuances of the brief perfectly. The result – a film that absolutely nails the essence of a modern Macmillan Coffee Morning. We’re so proud of the way the ad’s turned out.”
The campaign was directed by Graeme Hill and consists of a 30 second TV spot, digital and social media assets as well as still imagery by Justin Dowling.
