Manchester-based children’s IP entertainment brand Green Bean Studios has landed a total of £80,000 in funding to accelerate business growth.
The company has been awarded £30,000 from ‘DCMS Create Growth Fund: Competition 1’ from Innovate UK to support further development of its animated children’s TV series Green Bean & Friends.
This latest funding comes on the back of Green Bean Studios’ winning £50,000 in funding from Innovate UK’s Inclusive Innovation Award 2023 back in June.
The new pre-school TV series in production aims to tackle the ecological crisis whilst supporting young children during their early years, through play and learning.
The funding from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) Create Growth Programme is designed to provide high-growth creative businesses with targeted support to enable them to scale, develop investor networks, and grow by exploring new innovation projects.
Green Bean Studios founder, Anita Frost, said: “Entertainment is such a powerful thing right now. We need the creative industry and creative individuals to come forward and drive the impact this world needs.
“As a creative, you have to really know what’s going on in the world. There should be a focus on shifting mental health. Take your own lens further out and understand how much impact you can deliver. This will outweigh the bad in the world.”
Green Bean Studios’ mission is to be a global sustainable children’s entertainment brand, aiming to tackle childhood obesity, children’s declining mental health, the negative impacts of overusing technology, and the ongoing ecological crisis.
