John Cooper Clarke has been announced as one of the stand-in hosts on BBC Radio 6 Music’s Sunday Service slot when Jarvis Cocker takes a break this summer.
The legendary Salford poet, currently enjoying a late-career revival, will stand in for the former Pulp frontman on June 9.
Other stand-in hosts will include Primal Scream lead singer Bobby Gillespie, former Sex Pistol John Lydon and Colin Greenwood, Radiohead bassist.
James Stirling, head of programmes at BBC 6 Music, said: “Over the summer, 6 Music’s Sunday afternoons will feature iconic artists sharing their record collections. They are all great story tellers and it promises to be a special run of shows for music fans.”
