Zinc Media runs riot at the 2023 NY Festivals TV & Film Awards

The Last Stone was among Zinc's Gold Award wins

Zinc Media Group, the television, brand and audio production group had a barnstorming night at last nights’s New York Festivals TV and Film Awards 2023.

Alongside two Golds and the coveted Grand Award, Zinc rounded off a memorable night by being announced as Production Company of the Year – the ultimate accolade.

Vulnerable People, created by The Edge for Network Rail, was a double winner picking up both the Grand Award and a Gold for an insightful film that challenges internal attitudes and perceptions to trespassers across the UK rail network.

The second Gold was awarded to Tern TV in the Sports Documentary category for The Last Stone. Shown on BBC Scotland, the memorable film captures an iconic moment in sporting history, when the nation held its breath as the promise of Olympic glory came down to one final stone for the women’s British Curling team.

Zinc, which has Northern offices in anchester and Macclesfield, also picked up a further five Silver Awards and one Bronze, as well as being selected as a finalist in several categories.

Mark Browning, CEO of Zinc Media Group said: “This is an exceptional achievement for an exceptional group of people. I am extremely proud of the content we produce for our clients and thrilled, on behalf of everyone in the Group, that the work has been recognised and rewarded.

“Zinc has pedigree at these international awards winning the Grand and Gold awards in TV & Radio for Maggie – The First Lady, The Fall of Milosevic and Countdown to War, all from Brook Lapping and The British Black Panthers, The Secret History of Bossa Nova, and The New York 77 Blackout from our radio businesses, but this is the first time Zinc has been awarded the prestigious Production Company of the Year. Winning this overall prize, when competing against such revered peers, is a great achievement.”
