Content creation and automation studio Make & Do, part of The Breathe Network, is launching its first internship scheme to provide accessible routes to employment in the creative industry while championing creativity and diversity.
The scheme, called Make & Do & You, will be the first of a series of initiatives under The Breathe Network Academy Scheme. It is now open to creatives age 18 and above looking to gain industry experience – from photography, videography, social content creation and motion to client services, art direction or even styling, regardless of their background or qualifications.
On the hunt for bright new Yorkshire talent, Make & Do plans to nurture and grow the skill sets of three creatives at the start of their career, offering them the chance to experience the industry first hand. This will be repeated over the next school and college break.
Chosen candidates will be provided with a brief to work on across four weeks, enabling them to build a portfolio of work they can then use to showcase their talents going forwards. The project will give candidates an opportunity to create content for various comms channels including advertising, social, in-store and on-line.
Prospective candidates should apply via @makeanddo_agency on Instagram by Friday, June 2 and will be asked to create original content about something that’s inspirational to them.
Applicants will then be shortlisted, with successful candidates invited to Make & Do’s Leeds studio to meet with the team. Three successful people will be selected for the placement!
Successful applicants for the scheme will be paid the Living Wage throughout their four-weeks training, with the potential of permanent jobs in the future.
Jenny Longsmith, Head of HR at The Breathe Network, said: “We know Leeds is full of incredible talent but so many people don’t get the opportunity realise it. We’re expecting to find some future stars as part of this process!”
