Former Dirty Sanchez star Matt Pritchard will be attending the World Premiere of his new documentary The Road of Excess at the Manchester Film Festival on Friday March 17.
Pritchard is best known for the stunt and prank TV show, which aired from 2003-2007, and the spin-off film Dirty Sanchez: The Movie. He began his career as a proffessional skateboarder and also appeared on the Channel 4 stunt gameshow Balls of Steel.
Since 2018 a calmer Pritchard has hosted the BBC’s Dirty Vegan, the UK’s first Vegan cookery TV show, and launched his own Dirty Vegan food line.
The Road of Excess explores the pitfalls of fame and celebrity culture through Pritchard’s eyes talking about toxic masculinity, mental health, addiction, fame and what happens when it’s gone.
Pritchard will attend the screening of The Road of Excess at 6.30pm and take part in a post screening Q&A alongside director Jamie Jones.
Also dropping in over the festival’s closing weekend will be actress and producer Antonia Thomas, who will be attending the screening and holidng a Q&A for her latest, the horror Anacoreta, at 12.30pm on Saturday March 18.
Thomas may be best-known locally for her appearances in the 2012 Stone Roses comedy Spike Island and the 2014 paean to the Northern Soul scene, Northern Soul. Less locally, she has also appeared in the E4 cult sci-fi favourite Misfits, Steve McQueen’s lauded anthology Small Axe the French-Canadian Luc Besson spinoff Transporter the Series.
