Filming has wrapped in the North of England on the third series of Sky drama, COBRA: Rebellion.
Produced by All3Media’s New Pictures, in association with Sky Studios, it stars Robert Carlyle and Jane Horrocks.
Carlyle reprises his role of Prime Minister alongside Chief of Staff, Victoria Hamilton. Horrocks joins as a new populist Defence Secretary.
In the new series, which has been shot in Greater Manchester and Yorkshire, they are faced with an unforeseen environmental disaster.
“The subsequent investigation leads Sutherland and his team to realise that all may not be as it appears. Embarking on a quest to discover the truth, they find something disturbing and disruptive underneath,” said Sky Studios.
“The crisis spirals to encompass not only the urgent threat of environmental destruction, but also the malignant corruption of the arms industry and the rise of shadowy corporate security firms. The cabinet are faced with the inconvenient reality of the UK’s historic relationship with a global superpower.”
Toby Finlay is lead writer on the series and is joined by James Wood and Rachel Anthony on the writing team.
COBRA: Rebellion was commissioned by Sky Studios for Zai Bennett, Managing Director of Content, Sky UK.
The executive producers are Charlie Pattinson, Toby Finlay, Joe Donaldson, Willow Grylls and Elaine Pyke. Rebecca Davies is the producer.
The 6-part drama will air on Sky and NOW in 2023, with NBCUniversal Global Distribution handling international sales.
