West Yorkshire agency 18Players has completed an extensive project for the 10-time host of The Open Championship, Royal Birkdale.

The project included a new website, video and photography and 18Players was commissioned to undertake the extensive digital project for the famous Southport links last Autumn.

The photography and videos help enhance the visitor experience and the beauty of Royal Birkdale by offering a combination of aerial and ground-level shots which bring to life the course’s unique terrain and landscape.

Thanks to the adoption of a sophisticated style of hole-by-hole video, the discerning golfer is able to gain a much richer perspective of what to expect when they are out on the links.

Southport’s Royal Birkdale

All of this is incorporated into a beautiful new website which lets the visuals make the all-important first impression, showcases the brilliant on and off-course experience a golfer receives when visiting Royal Birkdale and also indulges the rich history of the club.

Michael Sawicki, managing secretary at Royal Birkdale, said: “We commissioned 18Players to update our course video and photography and our clubhouse photography. All of it is now showcased on our new website. They have been professional and flexible throughout the whole process. Nothing was ever too much trouble and Mike and his team were always quick to respond to our needs.”

Mike Robertson, account manager at 18Players, said: “It is an honour for us to work with an Open Championship venue in Royal Birkdale. It was exciting to find new ways to show off such a distinguished course. To add Royal Birkdale to a list of clients that already include Royal Troon, Western Gailes and The Machrie shows we work very well with world-class links courses!”

18Players doesn’t appear to have any intention of clearing the green just yet – the company added that it is currently working on multiple digital projects on behalf of other UK and Ireland top 100 courses.
