Zinc Media Group has appointed Nick Todd as its new Head of Production.

The former Head of Production at factual indie, Uplands, will be based at its Zinc Television labels in Manchester and London.

Todd spent almost 20 years at the BBC, initially working across news and current affairs, including Panorama. He later became Head of Production, Topical and Live at BBC Studios Factual Entertainment and Events. This meant he was responsible for working with the BBC and global commercial broadcasters on factual entertainment.

“Not only is Nick an inspirational production leader, he is incredibly well-respected right across the industry,” said Tanya Shaw, Managing Director, Zinc Television.

“His extensive experience of leading large-scale production units is perfectly complemented by his collaborative and supportive approach.  That’s why he is perfectly placed to lead our London and Manchester labels as we look to further expand our specialist factual footprint. We are very excited to have him on board.”

At Zinc he’ll be responsible for operations and productions, and growing its factual division. This includes Brook Lapping and Red Sauce. He will also oversee new labels as Zinc Television “expands into new factual genres.”

“I’m delighted to be joining Zinc Television as it embarks upon its next phase of growth across the London and Manchester TV bases,” he explained.

“The breadth of output and the mix of labels is outstanding, and the content is all defined by quality, creativity and ambition. I’m looking forward to working with Tanya and the brilliant team to realise the vision for the business through 2023 and beyond.”
