Oomph Works will use new ownership to drive Yorkshire’s digital transformation

Oomph Works

Wakefield software development agency Oomph Works hopes to boost regional growth by helping local businesses transition to fully digitised workflows.

The company, formerly known as GoMedia Ltd, is undergoing a rebrand following its acquisition by food, pharma and industrial distribution specialist ACI Group in October. The acquisition, says the company, provides the strategic platform to encourage businesses to invest in digital services that can drastically reduce manual data input time and increase customer retention and end-to-end visibility.

Scott Bowers, operations manager at Oomph Works said: “Software like Excel remains the traditional go-to platform for many businesses today to store operational information. However, it requires employees to manually enter data and manage this daily. At Oomph, we are committed to helping businesses leverage their data in a way that saves them time and reduces overall costs. With additional investment from our new owners, ACI Group, we hope to drive this digital transformation via our bespoke platform, Oomph.”

Since 2007, the company has spearheaded digital projects for some of the region’s most loved sports clubs including Yorkshire Carnegie, Ossett United and Featherstone Rovers. Most recently, it has worked with Leeds’ RJN Decorating Limited, to replace its existing Microsoft Excel and Word filing system with Oomph – a fully functioning Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.

David Neville, MD of RJN, said: “For years, we were using Microsoft and Excel worksheets that we had created ourselves in our business operations. These were often difficult to balance, prone to errors, and time consuming to update. The Oomph CRM system was up and running in no time at all once our customer and supplier information was placed into the software – the time saved and the information that we now have at our fingertips is unbelievable.”

ACI Group says that it is determined to put the ‘Oomph’ into businesses that have yet to fully transition to digital workflows now it has acquired the firm.

Karsten Smet, director of ACI, said: “We instantly recognised [the] drive and passion for challenging the status quo with the Oomph platform and are looking forward to the ways we can deliver this to the Yorkshire region and further afield. Working alongside Oomph, we are developing a best-in-class workflow management application that orchestrates the collection, tracking and improvement of materials and supplies to benefit businesses across the supply chain.”
