EvolveODM says it’s creating an “IT services powerhouse” in Lancashire, following its acquisition of Preston’s GB3 from EG Group.
The Wigan managed network solutions specialist was backed in the deal by Barclays Corporate Bank.
It’s part of major growth plans for EvolveODM, which aims to create 40 new jobs by 2025. It’s also seeking to scale up its network management footprint from 7,500 to 15,000 over the next 3 years.
“We’ve been working closely with GB3 recently to fulfil mutual customer contracts, so we knew that acquiring GB3 would help us create a broader IT services business with a more expansive offering for our customers,” explained Alan Stephenson-Brown, Director at Evolve Business Group.
“This acquisition helps us on our mission to become an indispensable technology partner to retail, hospitality, and petroleum franchises. The two companies provide truly complementary services and together create a centre of excellence for IT in Lancashire’s growing digital sector.”
Details of the deal haven’t been published, GB3 was bought by the Issa family’s, EG Group in 2019. It employs 45 staff.
