The National Television Awards, which were scheduled to take place this Thursday, September 15 with Joel Dommett hosting, have been rescheduled following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
Host broadcaster ITV and event producer Indigo Television said in a statement at the weekend: “ITV and Indigo Television have taken the decision to reschedule this year’s National Television Awards; the ceremony will now take place on Thursday 13th October, live from the OVO Arena Wembley.
The NTA added via a Tweet on its official account that public voting will be suspended as a mark of respect, with the ballots due to reopen at 9am on Tuesday September 20, the day after the Queen’s state funeral. All tickets will remain valid for the new date.
This year’s awards will mark the first time the ceremony has been held at Wembley’s OVO Arena and will see a host of broadcasters and streamers battle it out for the most prestigious awards in the annual UK TV calendar in categories from drama to documentary and quiz shows to soap opera.
