The Junior Eurovision Song Contest is to be broadcast on BBC for the first time in the competition’s history.
It will air on CBBC, BBC One and the BBC iPlayer, with the UK production taking place in dock10 at MediaCityUK.
The contest is for youngsters aged between 9 and 14 and the process to select the act and song is now underway – led by CBBC with BBC Studios Entertainment and Music.
“We are beyond excited to bring the Junior Eurovision Song Contest to the BBC for the first time, and to showcase the diverse young musical talent from across Europe for children and their families to discover and enjoy together,” said Patricia Hidalgo, Director BBC Children’s and Education.
“This junior version of Eurovision will undoubtedly encapsulate the same spirit of unity that the adult contest brings, reflecting the heart of what CBBC is all about, an inclusive channel that celebrates the diversity and creativity in all children. I can’t wait to unveil our own musical talent who will proudly represent the UK.”
Armenia will play host to the event following Maléna’s winning performance in 2021.

The Junior Eurovision Song Contest began in 2003, over the years, a total of 39 countries have taken part in the competition. When it was last aired in the UK, it was on ITV.
