Bauer Media Audio, which operates radio stations across the UK and Europe including Sheffield’s Hallam FM, Stockport’s Imagine and Newcastle’s Metro Radio, has appointed Christiane Freund as people and culture director.
In total, German multinational Bauer Media Group publishes 600 magazines, over 400 digital products and 50 radio and TV stations, as well as print shops, postal, distribution and marketing services. It has a workforce of approximately 11,000 in 17 countries and reported a turnover of £1.2bn in its 2020 annual report.

She joins Bauer Media Audio from LVMH Group where she oversaw the transformation of the business across the EMEA regions. Previously she worked at RTL Group in Luxembourg as Vice President of Human Resources.
Freund will be joined at Bauer by new general counsel Adrian Goss, formerly of Australian magazine and digital publisher Are Media. He will lead the Audio legal team across Europe, as well as providing services to both Bauer Media Audio and Bauer Media Publishing in the UK.
The latest appointments follow the arrival of Tina Sany-Davies into a new group corporate governance function as chief compliance officer and group deputy general counsel and Sarah Barnes as VP, people and culture development, Bauer Media Group.
