Tech investor UKSE appoints Steve Lyon as regional chief for Sheffield and the Humber

Tech investor UKSE has appointed Steve Lyon as its new area manager for the Sheffield City Region and the Humber area, as well as the Black Country and Stoke-on-Trent.

He will lead on the firm’s regional efforts to provide SMEs with funding and support to grow their businesses, create local job opportunities, and bolster the local economy.

Lyon, who was previously regional executive at UKSE, replaces former regional manager Keith Williams. He has previously worked with RBS and Natwest, before becoming a finance broker and working with the regional Growth Hub.

Lyon said: “UKSE plays an important part in supporting the region’s businesses with their growth ambitions. I am thrilled to be taking on the role of area manager for the Sheffield City region and Humber, and I am looking forward to building and strengthening further relationships with businesses looking for investment, as well as local professional advisers.”

UKSE, a division of TATA Steel, helps businesses to grow by providing investment capital and loans of up to £1.5m, as well as premises within its innovation centres. It recently supported the Transform SY accelerator programme to support tech entrepreneurs in South Yorkshire and has successfully granted a number of kickstart grants to budding businesses across the region.
