A new technology academy is expected to bring 20 new jobs to the Yorkshire region and achieve revenue of £500k in year one.

The Corecom Technology Academy’s growth is expected to accelerate rapidly in year two with the business projecting a threefold increase in staff (to 60) and a 400% increase in revenue to £2m.

Leeds-based Corecom Consulting says that the Academy will champion diversity and inclusion and redress the barriers to entry and progression within the tech sector.

Thomas Crabtree, will take up the position of academy director, with responsibility for delivering training, project placement and learning and support, with James Taylor acting as business director, responsible for business development and communications.

IT recruiter Corecom was founded by MD Jonathan Sanderson in 2008 and has since secured the Platinum Mark from Investors in People for its diverse and equitable company culture.

He said: “It has become increasingly evident in the wake of the recent pandemic and economic environment that there is a mismatch between the resourcing needs of the IT and tech sector and candidate and employee career priorities and skill sets. The academy has been borne out of this need, providing a highly tailored training and resource solution to professionals and business alike.”
