Internet service provider Telcom Group is set to relocate its headquarters to bigger offices after signing a 15-year lease with Northstar, based in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.
Described by the provider as the city’s ‘largest office deal of the year so far’, Telcom is set to occupy the entire 11,514 sq ft self-contained building at Northstar, which it says is more than five times the size of its existing premises on Hilton Street.
Shaun Gibson, CEO of Telcom Group, said: “Last year, we secured £63.5 million in our Series A fund raise, which has enabled us to expand nationwide but with a special emphasis on the North of England where we will be building large scale fibre networks across Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool and Birmingham.”
He added: “Our new HQ is situated in an area of Manchester that we have already successfully installed our exceptional full fibre infrastructure meaning that we are confident that the digital infrastructure is in place to support our future growth. Connectivity and the ability to access it, is at the very core of our business. The Northern Quarter has a special place in hearts as it is not only where our business was originally born but also an area of the city that actively encourages entrepreneurial businesses, which resonates with us.”
The provider is in the process of deploying over 2,000km of new fibre network infrastructure to support fibre rollout to over 250,000 homes and 125,000 businesses over the next two to three years.
Interior design studio Sheila Bird has been appointed to carry out the fit-out of the building.
