Audio Always launches new podcast support scheme

Audio Always

Salford-based Audio Always has launched a new scheme offering free podcast production and mentoring support to arts organisations across Greater Manchester.

The ‘Manchester Amplified’ scheme aims to support individual artists and arts organisations to reach new audiences through podcasting.

The audio production company will work to support projects through access to studio recording, production and editing support, remote recording kit hire, mentoring and training from radio producers or audio technicians and creative project development.

The scheme is open to all arts organisations from theatre groups and music performers to visual artists and writers who may be looking to promote or amplify a project, or tell their creative stories.

Successful projects will be selected by a panel of industry experts across arts and media.

The panel includes BBC Radio 3 presenter Linton Stephens; Jane Beese, Director of Music at Manchester International Festival; Writer and actor, Nathaniel J Hall and Artistic Director and CEO of Manchester arts theatre Contact, Keisha Thompson.

Stuart Morgan, Audio Always Managing Director, said: “We’re so proud to be based in Greater Manchester and as we celebrate our 10th anniversary we’re delighted to be able to support the artists and organisations that make the region so special.

“We’ve seen podcast listenership grow as more people stayed at home over the last two years and hope Manchester Amplified will bring new audiences to some of the incredible work being forged by our creative communities.”

Siân Roberts, Development Producer for arts and culture at Audio Always, added:  “We’re really looking forward to uncovering some of the exciting and inspiring work that is taking place across the ten boroughs. We want Manchester Amplified to truly represent the diverse breadth of talent and ideas that we know is out there.”

Audio Always, which was founded in 2012 when the BBC moved a number of its programmes and departments to Salford, delivers more than 400 hours of content each month.

Applicants can submit a proposal for the scheme via the Audio Always website, with applications set to close on Wednesday 25th May.
