The Global Reach 2021 Report will celebrate thriving companies which have both a physical presence in the North and operations internationally.

Today, we’re pleased to announce that GC Business Growth Hub will be a partner on the Global Reach 2021 Report and accompanying Summit, and help us put the North in a global context through our ambitious and exciting project.

In September, we announced that the report’s Research Partner will be the School of Digital Arts at Manchester Metropolitan University. The report will provide a unique insight into international companies in the North of England, covering sectors including advertising, broadcasting, cybersecurity, eCommerce, event management & production, gaming, hosting, print & merchandising, publishing and the full scope of emerging tech sectors.

Richard Jeffery, Director of Business Growth at GC Business Growth Hub said: “Despite 2020 bringing us the COVID-19 pandemic and the end of the EU transition period, there are significant opportunities for businesses in the North to grow through new international prospects. The Global Reach Report is a chance for GC Business Growth Hub to explore those opportunities with SMEs in the region.

“We’re looking forward to working with Prolific North and the other partners to identify and showcase those new routes to market that will drive success on the international stage for SMEs in the North.”

Manchester-based GC Business Growth Hub supports businesses of all sizes with peer-to-peer and one-to-one business support – offering their expertise and advice, as well as a Low Carbon Network, Creative Scale-up Programme, and lots more. Through advice and events, they help organisations overcome their challenges.

GC Business Growth Hub will be chairing a dedicated roundtable at the Global Reach 2021 Summit, which will arrive once the Global Reach 2021 Report is complete, along with a range of launch events starting late next year. The Summit will provide the opportunity to discuss and learn from the findings of the landmark report.

The first Global Reach Report was compiled in 2013, which at the time found that 250 companies with an international presence operated in the North, employing a total of more than 18,000. But the region has come a huge distance in seven years, so the report has returned as a barometer of the international success of the North.

Opportunities remain to take up sponsorship opportunities on the report or host a launch event. To learn more, fill out the form at the bottom of this page or click below.

The Global Reach 2021 Report will be a landmark piece of research set to reinforce the success of business in the North. Companies who are only generating sales from international activity, without having a presence there, will not be considered for inclusion.

We want to show off those forward-facing companies with bases in our region as well as overseas – and prove to a wider audience the international influence of the North of England, with the support of our partners and event hosts. The accomplishments of the North of England are sometimes overlooked, making this report more important than ever.

Once the report is completed, the launch events will build on its findings, focusing on the case studies identified. Taking place around the North, these events will welcome guest speakers to discuss and highlight parts of the report.

The culmination will be the Global Reach 2021 Summit, held in Manchester, involving a line-up of leading guests, and roundtable discussions focused on the report’s key themes and most impactful conclusions.
