Liverpool brand design agency Uniform has shared pictures of the Mitre Delta Max – the new 2020/21 season football for the English Football League.

The ball’s new design will be unveiled on the plinth at Wembley for the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Final.

Uniform’s Creative Lead, Richard Pay, said: “Imagine designing a poster that has no start point, no endpoint, no top, or bottom, no edge. Just seamlessly connected all the way around. That’s what designing a football is like. The design needs to transition from one panel to the next, all the way around and back to itself.

“We developed a concept based on the idea of the flow state – a fluid, organic graphic. It was crucial that the design is distinct and will stand out at a small size when constantly on the move. No small feat. But we love a challenge.”

Richard has now designed over 20 footballs to date.

The football won’t be used in the EFL until next season

Sean Kavanagh, Sports Marketing Director at Mitre, said: “We can’t wait to unveil the new Mitre Delta EFL football ahead of the EFL play-offs. Whilst it won’t be seen on-pitch until the 2020/21 season, it’s already received brilliant feedback from players in training.

“The ball is packed with all the technology players have come to expect from Mitre and the design is striking. We’re confident it’ll stand out on pitches next season and prove to be a game-changer.”

With innovative HyperseamTM technology, the Mitre Delta Max EFL ball’s technical perks include optimum control, speed, and stability.
