Video game developer Nequinox Studios has announced plans to create a major studio presence in the North West.
Chief Technical Officer Stephen Robinson left his post as Technical Director of Sumo to start Nequinox alongside his son Anthony Robinson, who is the studio’s CEO.
Matt Knott recently joined as Development Director after several years producing “immersive and interactive experiences” for the likes of Technicolor and Hasbro.
Nequinox recently worked on the Switch version of EA’s Burnout Paradise and is now recruiting new team members to join the studio, which is located in Hyde, Manchester.
Anthony Robinson said: “This is the most important step for the company since we set up and we will be expanding the team to work on new AAA productions with other companies as well as developing our own IP.
“The team is ready to do this now and it feels like there is a real buzz in the air in the North West development scene right now.”
Stephen Robinson, who worked for Sheffield’s Sumo for more than 13 years, added: “For the past two years we’ve worked hard to develop a reputation for being fantastic co-development partners, particularly in terms of our technical excellence.
“By bringing a creative powerhouse like Matt onboard, we will match our technical skills with imaginative and production excellence that we can bring to bear across all projects.”
