Former Cheetham Bell JWT MD Steve McCarron is teaming up with two former Planning Express staff to form a new agency.
McCarron, who was also MD at gyro Manchester and has most recently been working as a strategy consultant at Planning Express, is launching The Planning Department with Rebecca Ashley and Helen Davies.
Ashley is the former planning director at Planning Express, where she worked for 12 years, having held the same role at TBWA Manchester.
Davies was also a planning director at Planning Express having been strategy director at TBWA Manchester.
The trio say The Planning Department, based in Manchester, will be “a new kind of strategic services agency”.
McCarron said: “We know how important it is for clients and agencies to supercharge their thinking by bringing in new, diverse perspectives to solve problems and create new ideas. It is our job to provide this ‘outside-in thinking’ and plug it in seamlessly as and when clients need it.
“The rally cry is simple: if you need the best strategic thinking, then ‘Bring the outside in’.”
