We can now reveal that the chair for the Prolific North Manufacturers Roundtable on November 20th will be Gary Sheader, Founder of The Manufacturers Alliance.

Gary set up The Manufacturers Alliance in 2013 because he “believes the UK can have a successful manufacturing base if we work together to achieve it.”

Similarly to the purpose of the upcoming roundtable, The Manufacturers Alliance exists to share examples of good working practices, industry intelligence, and new methodologies to improve the standard of the sector.

The roundtable we’re hosting on Wednesday November 20th, in partnership with Acquia and Access, seeks to explore how an eCommerce strategy can benefit manufacturing companies by improving their sales.

Roundtable attendees will partake in a relaxed but thought-provoking discussion drawing upon their own experiences and hearing from others, with Gary Sheader charing the conversation.

Gary said: “I am delighted to be chairing the Manufacturing roundtable. This event is a fantastic platform for the manufacturing sector to discuss the topical issue of eCommerce and why it has been a challenging concept.”

Gary started his manufacturing career at BAe Systems back in 1991 and after rising the ranks as the likes of Gresham Office Furniture and Tailored Roofing Systems, he has built up a toolbox of solutions that he’s tried and tested during his experiences.

He set up Futurestate Solutions in January 2010 to support manufacturing business with the implementation of lean manufacturing and also launched the Bolton Manufacturers Group in September 2011.

Referred to as some in the industry as Mr. Manufacturing, his efforts as an ambassador for manufacturing in many circles around the North West haven’t gone unrecognised.

The morning discussion event, titled: ‘Manufactures Roundtable – Would eCommerce work for you?‘ is aimed at senior figures from large manufacturing companies who don’t currently have an eCommerce strategy.

The conversation will cover industry issues such as relationships with distribution partners, the cost of setting up an eCommerce channel, legal and regulatory implications and other important subjects that manufacturers must consider.

The roundtable will last from 9am till midday, and complimentary breakfast will be provided.

Numbers for this event are limited so if you are a senior member of a manufacturing company who is interested in attending, please apply on this event page and a member of the Prolific North team will get in touch.
