Laduma recreates Liverpool Boot Room in Virtual Reality

Laduma has recreated the iconic Anfield Boot Room, where Liverpool coaching staff masterminded some of the club’s most famous victories.

The original room, which was used up until the 90s, was demolished during renovations at the ground.

As a result, Laduma had only historic photographs and videos to work with. They also consulted with former players and managers, including Roy Evans.

The Liverpool studio explained that this was the beginning of an 8 stage process, which then saw it build the 3D environment, add boots and balls, plus lighting, shadows, textures, sound and archive video.

“To be able to recreate such an iconic room for the most passionate fans in world football was an incredible opportunity,” said Dan Rutstein, President of Laduma.

“The attention to detail of the product our team created is remarkable. And getting a seal of approval from Roy Evans – who spent so many years working out of that very room – is the highest compliment we could receive.”

The room was shown to fans and players as part of a Kopmania event, with Liverpool’s Bruce Grobbelaar, stating:

“Listen, the VR experience is absolutely fantastic. It’s given me some very good memories just watching that.”

One fan added:

“Having Roy Evans talk while you’re in the Boot Room provides fans with a once in a lifetime experience.”
