Gemma Atkinson, Gethin Jones and Dave Vitty are stepping down from the Hits Radio Breakfast Show less than a year after their first broadcast.
The trio were the first voices on Hits Radio – the reincarnation of Key 103 – last June.
Now the station has announced that Jones and Vitty are stepping down, “using the change as an opportunity to pursue new projects which they will be excited to reveal in due course”.
The details of the new Breakfast show will be unveiled shortly. Meanwhile, Atkinson is going on maternity leave to have her first baby and will return as host of the Drivetime Show along with Wes Butters.
The trio’s final Breakfast Show will be on Friday 7th June, with Butters, Sheree Murphy and Vitty covering Breakfast ahead of a new launch this summer.
Programme Director Paul Gerrard said: “Gethin, Gemma and Dave drove the Hits Radio Breakfast show with passion, enthusiasm and heaps of fun. All incredibly talented broadcasters, we wish both Gethin and Dave all the best with their upcoming projects and Gemma with her impending arrival!”
Presenter Debbie Mac is also stepping down from her afternoon show on the Hits Radio Network however will be working at Bauer Radio on other projects. Her last show will be on 21st June.
