James Corden has announced that TV comedy series Gavin and Stacey is to return for a one-off Christmas special this year.
The much-loved British sitcom, created and written by Corden and Ruth Jones, will be produced by Fulwell 73, Tidy Productions and Baby Cow Productions.
Last screened in the UK in 2010, the Bafta-winning sitcom follows a long-distance relationship between a girl from south Wales (played by Joanna Page) and an Essex boy (Mathew Horne).
The new Christmas special will also star Rob Brydon, Larry Lamb, Melanie Walters and Alison Steadman.
In a joint statement, Corden and Jones said: “Over the last ten years we’ve talked a lot about Gavin and Stacey – where they might be today and what their lives might look like.
“And so in secret we took the plunge and wrote this one hour special.
