Social Communications appointed by Luminate Group

Leeds City College

Social Communications has been appointed by Luminate Education Group, formerly known as Leeds City College Group, to deliver communications support.

The agency was first appointed by Luminate in late 2018 to support the launch of Leeds City College’s £60m campus at Quarry Hill.

Now its remit will be expanded to include group communications activity and stakeholder support for its Capital Projects team. The accounts will be serviced from Social Communication’s Leeds and North East office.

Richard Lewis, Director of Student Recruitment and Marketing at Luminate Education Group, said: “The opening of our new Quarry Hill Campus in 2019 represents a huge milestone in the history of this organisation, which can trace its roots back some 200 years. Social Communications have already demonstrated their value in helping to shape and communicate our story and vision.”

“The decision to broaden the scope of their work into our group activity is already paying dividends, by generating national press coverage on important topics within our sector. Additionally, their background in property communications makes them the perfect fit to support our Capital Projects strategy.

“2019 is set to be a transformative year for Luminate Education Group, and we’re looking forward to being able to celebrate that, in support of our long-term vision.”

Pete Wrathmell, Group Director and head of the Leeds and East team at Social Communications, added: “Luminate Education Group is a fantastic and forward-thinking organisation, with a student base of more than 30,000, making them one of the biggest further education providers in the North.

“Their new campus is set to be one of the first completed elements of the wider £300m plans for Quarry Hill, so being given the opportunity to support this hugely significant project was fantastic.

“Being appointed to support their wider ambitions from a group and property strategy point of view, is testament to where we are as an agency, with our strong knowledge of the region, and our breadth of communications expertise.

“Our team are energised and excited about this next phase of work and are relishing the chance to shout about all the good things the College and Group are doing.”
