Presenters manage 50 hour presenting lock in to save local radio station

Two presenters from Wirral Radio have been on air for 50 hours, in order raise funds to save the station.

The community station officially closed down earlier this month after 15 years, blaming financial pressures.

Since then, the local community has come together to try and raise enough cash to keep it going.

The Save Wirral Radio Crowdfunder page has reached almost half of its £10k target. That’s been helped by presenters, John and Bev, being on air for a marathon 50 hour presenting session.

The station has 3 studios at its Leasowe base, including a live room and recording studio. It also has broadcast training suites.
