Sheffield’s SEO Works partnered with Heart Research UK to support the launch of a campaign that has already reached more than 16 million people online.
The Sing for your Heart campaign, which is led by a six-year-old boy with an incurable heart condition, went viral after gaining support from celebrities including Pixie Lott, Boyzone and Alesha Dixon.
The public were asked to upload a short video of themselves singing, before nominating up to three friends. By texting SING to 70144, contributors donate £3 to the charity.
Barbara Harpham, Chief Executive of Heart Research UK, said “It doesn’t matter if you’re a good singer or a bad one, a celebrity or an enthusiastic amateur, Sing for your Heart will get you in the festive mood and spread some Christmas cheer as well as raise money. Sing, donate and nominate today and know that the money you raise will help fund research to give children and their families a brighter future”.
Ben Foster, Managing Director of The SEO Works, added “We’re delighted to have supported Heart Research UK for such an important campaign. Money raised from donations will help further fund pioneering medical research into heart disease. Heart disease affects all ages, and with more donations for research, Heart Research UK can help people live healthier, happier, longer lives.”
