MediaCityUK’s Timeline North has provided post-production on show VTs for Sports Personality of the Year 2017, as well as the 60-minute preview show Sports Personality of the Year 2017 – The Contenders, which was broadcast on BBC One last night.
The preview programme celebrated the 12 contenders for the prestigious prize through a mix of VTs and panel discussion from Gabby Logan, Richard Osman and Tom Daley.
Timeline used a ‘Media Shuttle connection’ to push clips from the BBC Sport archive system. Across a four-week stint, 20 terabytes of media were pushed. The workload was split between up to six edit suites at any one time, with the fast-turnaround preview show and VTs edited simultaneously.
The final VTs will be played out live via EVS during the outside broadcast at Liverpool’s Echo Arena on Sunday night.
