Atom Bank’s chief marketing officer is to join the advisory board for Tech North.
Lisa Wood will work with the organisation to provide a “fresh marketing perspective on a heavily tech-based board” as it continues its efforts to support the digital sector in the region.
Tech North was set up by government-backed Tech City UK and is focused on attracting and developing talent, entrepreneurship and investment in the North.
Wood will join director of Tech North, Richard Gregory, and executive chair, Herb Kim, with other members including Hugh Campbell from GP Bullhound, Lee Perkins from Metronet and David Richards from Wandisco.
Kim said: “I’m incredibly happy to have Lisa Wood join the Tech North Advisory Board. One of the main objectives for Tech North is to raise the awareness of the Northern tech sector and its companies. We couldn’t have found a stronger adviser to help here than Lisa.”
Wood has 23 years’ experience in marketing and before moving to Durham-based Atom was head of marketing at first direct. She’s been recognised in Campaign’s 2017 Power 100 list of influential marketers.
She said: “I’m delighted to be using my marketing expertise to help support Tech North’s objectives and look forward to playing a small part in building a thriving tech sector across the North of England. It’s critical for Atom that we’re nurturing the right skills and talent in the region and it’s great to be able to make a contribution to this.”
“Since Atom was founded in 2014 we’ve had an incredible journey and now want to contribute and play a bigger role in the North tech scene.”
