Janice Long is returning to the BBC for good, with BBC Radio Wales extending her temporary evening show.
Long, who was axed from BBC Radio 2 earlier this year, had been hosting the Summer Nights show 4 days a week for Radio Wales.
From September, she will become a permanent part of the station’s presenting line up, with a new series featuring live sessions from big name bands and providing a platform for Welsh artists.
“Welcoming Janice in as a permanent part of the existing line-up shows we’re serious about bringing our audience the biggest names,” said Colin Paterson, editor of Radio Wales.
Long spent almost 20 years on BBC Radio 2, most recently the Liverpool-born presenter hosted its After Midnight programmes.
