BBC Look North weatherman Owain Wyn Evans is to front his own show on BBC Radio York during the football close season.
Evans, who joined Look North in 2015, will take over the current Match Day Live slot from midday to 3pm slot from Saturday 6th May until August.
He said: “It’s a dream come true to have my own show and I can’t wait to get started on Radio York. It’s going to be great to get to know my listeners and there’ll be loads of giggles along the way. I can’t wait.”
Joe Pignatiello, Editor of BBC Radio York, added: “Owain is already a firm favourite with our listeners so it only seemed right to bring him on board. He’s passionate, hilarious and flamboyant – I think we’ll all have a lot of fun listening to his new show.”
