Manchester City has appointed an “official tyre partner” by signing a global partnership with South Korea’s Nexen Tire.
The firm becomes City’s most significant Asia-based partner and will have an LED presence at all of the club’s home games. It will also assume naming rights of the community bridge which links the Etihad Stadium to the City Football Academy.
The announcement was made at a signing ceremony in East Manchester, which was attended by Ho-Chan Kang, the president of Nexen Tire and City’s chief executive, Ferran Soriano:
“We are very happy to welcome Nexen Tire as our newest global partner and to welcome President Kang to our home in Manchester. We have millions of followers in South Korea and we will be able to provide them with more engaging experiences. Nexen is not only a well-established South Korean brand, but has a strong ambition to grow globally like we do. This partnership builds a strategic relationship that will enable us both to meet our objectives.”
