Stockport-based software company Pecometer is marking its 10th anniversary with a refreshed brand presence and a major product launch set for the summer.
Founded in 2015 by developer Sean Hutchinson, the Greater Manchester company has spent the last decade building tailored software systems for businesses who want more control, less complexity, and a better way to work. From streamlining internal operations to building scalable customer platforms, the team specialises in “custom tools that do exactly what’s needed.”
“Our clients come to us when off-the-shelf software stops making sense,” said Hutchinson. “We build systems that fit the way they work, not the other way around.”
Pecometer’s recently refreshed website, launched earlier this month, reflects the evolution of the company from a two-person side project to a 15-strong team of developers, QA analysts, designers, and digital strategists. With clients ranging from financial services to healthcare, the company’s work is grounded in clarity, technical depth, and long-term thinking.
“Our clients, like Acasta and Frive, own their systems from day one,” said senior developer Nikol Stoyanova. “That means no license traps, no rigid templates, just tech that adapts and scales as they grow.”
In 2020, Pecometer launched PecoTS and Pecular – two in-house proprietary frameworks that now power their software delivery. And later this year, the team will debut their most ambitious product yet: a new tool designed to simplify complex digital operations for growing businesses. Details remain under wraps for now, but the launch is scheduled for summer 2025.
The company’s team has grown organically, with many joining through apprenticeships, career changes, or self-taught routes. It’s a diverse group, with a strong woman majority, still fairly unusual in the tech world, and a shared focus on usability, simplicity, and long-term value.
“We’ve never tried to be the biggest agency in the room,” said Caitlin Macintyre, who leads Pecometer’s marketing and client accounts. “But we care deeply about what we build, and we’ve spent the last 10 years getting very good at solving hard problems with straightforward solutions.”
