Coronation Street axe confirmed for Daisy as revenge storyline twist sets up double exit

Charlotte Jordan as Daisy in Coronation Street

After four dramatic years on the cobbles, Coronation Street star Charlotte Jordan is set to say goodbye to Weatherfield and her character Daisy Midgeley could be going out with one final explosive twist.

Daisy has endured heartbreak after heartbreak in recent months, most recently losing the baby she was expecting with police officer Kit Green (Jacob Roberts). While the relationship with Kit was short-lived, Daisy has since reunited with former fiancé Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard).

But it’s a shocking betrayal from inside her own family that may ultimately drive her to leave.

The fallout begins after a heated row between Daisy and her step-mum Jenny Bradley (Sally Ann Matthews), sparked by the near-drowning of Daniel’s son, Bertie (Rufus Morgan-Smith). Jenny accuses Daisy of neglect, even dredging up the tragic drowning of Daisy’s little brother Tom.

Feeling devastated and rejected, Daisy turns to her estranged mum, Christina (Amy Robbins), and together they hatch a cruel plan: catfish Jenny using a fictional admirer called ‘Dom’.

As Metro reports, Jenny has recently been swept off her feet by messages and flowers from the mysterious Dom – unaware it’s a trap. When Dom appears in person at the Rovers, the con goes into full swing.

Jenny, having come into some money, is planning to buy the Rovers from Carla (Alison King) and edge Daisy out. But Christina uncovers the plan and urges Dom to tempt Jenny into investing in his phoney business instead.

It works – and with Jenny’s cash seemingly on its way into Daisy and Christina’s hands, Daisy begins plotting her exit.

Telling Daniel she’s come into money from an aunt, Daisy proposes they leave Coronation Street behind and start a new life with Bertie. But with Daniel’s life, job and family all in Weatherfield, will he take the leap – or will Daisy go it alone?

Either way, it marks the end of an era for one of Corrie’s most compelling characters.
