Leeds agency gets its teeth into tasty brief with Fox’s Burton’s biscuits

Leeds-based agency Finn Communications has been appointed as Fox’s Burton’s Companies (FBCUK&I) and its associated brands’ lead B2B and trade communications agency.

Following a competitive pitch process, FBCUK&I has appointed Finn to drive distribution and grow its impulse sweet biscuit sales across convenience and supermarket channels. The scope of the account covers communications strategy, creative communications, trade advertising, PR and influencer engagement.

Founder of Finn, Richard Rawlins, said: “Fox’s Burton’s Companies owns some iconic brands and has a really ambitious plan for growth. We’re thrilled to be working with them again. The business has untapped expertise which we will help to share with the trade as well as some exciting new products to launch and ambitious brand plans. We can’t wait to share FBCUK&I’s story to help them achieve their growth ambitions.”

Robin Norton, head of category insight at FBC, added: “Finn stood out at the pitch for their strategic understanding of our commercial plans and suggested an exciting creative solution which will see FBC stand out as category leaders across all channels. They bring a refreshingly collaborative approach which fits the culture of FBC really well.”

Fox’s Burton’s Companies UK, or FBC UK, was formed from the 2022 merger of two British biscuit legends: Fox’s and Burton’s. Together with a combined heritage dating back as far as 1853, the two biscuit big guns are responsible for some of the UK’s favourite sweet snacks, including Wagon Wheels, Viscount and Rocky biscuits, not to mention a healthy sideline in savoury treats including primary school break-time classic Fish’n’Chips.

Based in the vibrant hub of Leeds Dock, Finn is a “16-year-old start up,” and a group of “14 collaborative and creative thinker-doers.” The agency is no stranger to getting its teeth into tasty treats, having previously worked with Fruit Pastilles creator Rowntree’s, tea gurus Taylors of Harrogate and healthy natural meals specialist Gosh! Foods. The agency previously landed the pre-merger Fox’s brief back in 2016.
