Lewis and Tayburn bring historic brand Bayne’s to life

Lewis and Tayburn have created an animated character “Baynesy” to help Bayne’s the Family Baker mark its 70th anniversary.

“More than a mascot” the character is described as a “fun and friendly family baker” to embody the “warmth and heritage”  of the brand.

“As we celebrate 70 incredible years, we wanted to create something special and memorable for our customers – and Baynesy does just that,” explained John Bayne, Joint Managing Director of Bayne’s The Family Bakers.

“He represents the heart and soul of Bayne’s: friendly, fun, and all about the joy of great baking. We’re thrilled to have worked with Lewis and Tayburn to bring this character to life, and we can’t wait for everyone to meet him. Keep an eye out for Baynesy over the coming months where you’ll be able to spot him on our stickers, posters, website and our social media.”

The creative agency used advanced animation techniques to ensure that he’s more than just a static figure, and can have an interactive presence designed to change with Bayne’s brand identity.

“We wanted to ensure that Baynesy not only reflected the rich heritage of Bayne’s but also had a fresh, digital-first personality that could evolve with the brand,” added Ricky Stevens, Creative Director at Tayburn.

“We understand that brand characters create warm emotive connections with the audience which increases brand recall, so this was a big part of our thinking behind Baynesy.  Seeing him come to life across multiple platforms is a testament to the power of strong storytelling and innovative design. We hope customers will love him as much as we do.”

Lewis acquired Tayburn last year in a cash and equity deal, bringing together two of Scotland’s longest-standing creative agencies. They continue to operate as individual brands.
