Adam Frisby, the former CEO of In The Style, has offered to “help staff who’ve been dismissed without pay” from the Manchester ecommerce group.
Earlier this month, In The Style was expected to call in the administrators, with FTS Recovery lined up to handle the process. However, there’s been silence from all parties ever since.
That’s despite a number of claims about non-payments and redundancies from high profile names, appearing across social media.
It was believed that the Manchester online fashion retailer, which was at one point valued at more than £100m, could be sold in a pre-pack insolvency to Baaj Capital, which first stepped in, in 2023 to acquire the business – preventing it falling into administration the first time.

Frisby is the founder and CEO of In The Style, but left in September last year and he had been planning a podcast “to share his truth” about that departure. He said in January that this wasn’t happening as “we’ve been silenced.”
In a series of social media posts, via Instagram stories last night, he stated that the last few days had been “an emotional rollercoaster to say the least.”
“I’ve spoken to a few of the staff who’ve lost their jobs, and it’s so sad what they’re going through,” he wrote.
“They’re in such a vulnerable position – dismissed immediately without pay, and many are unable to afford legal advice. Having worked alongside so many of these people over the years, I feel a sense of responsibility to try help however I can.
“It may not be much in the grand scheme of things, but I’m going to fund some legal advice for them and see if there’s anything we can do to address this injustice. The fact that there are pregnant women and mothers with children to support only makes this situation even more upsetting.
“I’m sharing this because I have such a great community on here, and I’m sure some of you have valuable knowledge. Plus, you never know-the company might actually see this and, miraculously, grow a conscience!? I know it’s a long shot, but it’s worth a try…
“For those who might be able to help, l’m adding a box below. If anyone has experience with complex legal situations like this or can recommend someone who has helped staff who’ve been dismissed without pay, please reach out. I want to at least try to help them understand their rights and what steps to take.”

In the Style has also faced criticism from EastEnders actor, Jacqueline Jossa, who demanded via Instagram, to be “paid what she is owed.” She signed up to be the face of the fashion brand several years ago, but claimed the company hadn’t paid her “in months.”
Another influencer, Charlotte Crosby also used the social network to claim that staff, suppliers and influencers were “not being paid and being treated unfairly.”
There has been no official comment to either confirm or deny these claims.
