“No brainer” as Avalanche and DigitalCity pair join games studio

Middlesbrough games studio, Radical Forge has added to its leadership team with a Chief Commercial Officer and Head of Production.

The company which raised £2.6m through the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund late last year, said at the time that it was planning to take on bigger contracts and expand its team. 

That team expansion has started with David Dixon taking on the Chief Commercial Officer role, while Dave Bramhall becomes Head of Production.

Dixon has worked in training, technology, and education in the public and private sectors, including at DigitalCity and C4DTI. He’s also the co-founder of the Tees Tech Awards and founder of knowledge platform, Fireside.

“I am excited to join Radical Forge at this point in our journey. I feel that the skills, knowledge and experience I possess dovetails perfectly with where we are at in our journey. I have been lucky enough to advise Bruce, Freddie and the team since its early startup days and to now have an amazing opportunity to be a part of the team, It’s really exciting,” he said.

“When they asked me to join, it was a no-brainer; we shared so many values and ambitions, so it made a lot of sense. And now I know more people in the organisation, I can vouch for the incredible talent we have here.”

Bramhall’s background is in games, having started as a QA Tester at Evolution Studios in 2004. He became a producer, working on the MotorStorm series, before spells at EA and Ninja Theory. 

More recently, he was an Executive Producer at Avalanche Studios, coordinating teams around the globe, with credits including Call of the Wild: the Angler, Project CARS (series), Disney Infinity, Need For Speed Rivals and LEGO Indiana Jones.

“I’ve only been working at Radical Forge for a few days and love everything about it,” he stated.

“The teams are incredibly creative, committed to making great games, and the company has so much potential. We have some fantastic projects in the works too, both internally and externally. I’m super excited to be here, I can’t wait to get stuck in.”
