North East and Yorkshire radio stalwart Peter Grant has passed away after a short battle with cancer.
Heartfelt tributes have poured in since news broke of the beloved former broadcaster’s death.
Grant was hailed by fans who knew him on many stations from Magic, Hallam FM, Durham FM, Radio Aire, TFM and BBC Radio Newcastle and Tees.

The broadcaster also appeared on screen, hosting shows for Made In Tyne and Wear as well as travel and weather updates on BBC Look North, and stage, hosting countless charity and business award ceremonies over the years.
Tributes have flooded in from former colleagues and fans. Former colleague and ex-Look North news reader Colin Briggs said: “Dreadful, dreadful news. Great bloke Peter. Thoroughly enjoyed working alongside him. Proper pro at everything he did.”
