OneMay branding takes a bow at inaugural Liverpool City Region AI Summit

Liverpool-based creative studio OneMay designed the identity for the inaugural Liverpool City Region AI Summit, an event showcasing the region’s cutting-edge AI capabilities while tackling critical topics like ethics, law, and “AI for Good.”

Liverpool City Region Mayor Steve Rotheram emphasised the importance of steering this transformative technology in an ethical direction: “This summit isn’t just about showcasing talent and innovation, it’s about making sure AI works for everyone,” he said. “From healthcare to education, AI has the potential to transform lives, and we’re committed to using it as a force for good.”

Tasked with creating a visual language that embodies the summit’s innovative spirit, OneMay developed an abstract logo symbolising progress and collaboration. Featuring six spokes to represent the six boroughs of the Liverpool City Region, the logo suggests perpetual motion and innovation, reinforced by harmonious gradients that evoke a futuristic and dynamic tone.

Lee Weaver, co-founder of OneMay, said: “We set out to design an identity that captured the energy and ambition of this landmark event. The abstract logo and adaptable system allow the brand to evolve alongside the summit’s growing influence.”

The Liverpool City Region AI Summit brought together global tech leaders like IBM and Microsoft, alongside local innovators, to explore AI’s transformative potential in sectors like healthcare and education at the city’s Box Park on Thursday November 21.
