Manchester designer gets to work on Stockport’s iconic pyramid interior

With planning permission now granted to the multi-award winning Royal Nawaab Restaurant Group’s plans for Stockport’s “pyramid,” Manchester design consultancy WDC Creative has unveiled the plans it has been working on for the historic site.

The firm describes the commission as “one of our most prestigious interior design commissions to date: creating the vision to bring the unique and iconic Pyramid building in Stockport back to life.”

It has worked closely with the Royal Nawaab team to create a concept worthy of the building itself. The design blends traditional elements with a modern, luxury aesthetic to offer something truly unique. From the grand central atrium, to the expansive dining hall and luxurious banqueting suites, every area has been designed to feel special.

The buffet restaurant in the former home of Co-op Bank will be able to accommodate 350 diners on the ground floor and there will also be three premium banqueting facilities: the smallest having a capacity of 150 covers; a medium sized banqueting suite with a capacity of 300 covers and the largest with a capacity of 700 covers.

The goal was to create an environment that reflects the Royal Nawaab’s reputation for excellence whilst embracing the cultural richness at the heart of the brand. By reimagining the Stockport Pyramid with this in mind, we have helped create a truly individual destination which will be a high-end dining destination like no other in the UK.

Work is now underway on the next stage of development as the ideas are turned into reality, in preparation for launch in Spring 2025.
