The BBC has recommissioned BAFTA award-winning comedy series, Dinosaur. The series won Writer Film/Television for Ashley Storrie and Matilda Curtis whilst Ashley Storrie also took home the Audience Award: Favourite Scot on Screen at the BAFTA Scotland Awards.
Made by Two Brothers Pictures (Fleabag, The Tourist), and produced in association with All3Media International for BBC Three, BBC iPlayer and BBC Scotland in the UK, the new 6×30” series will commence production in 2025.
Filmed and set in Glasgow, series one of Dinosaur followed Nina (Ashley Storrie), an autistic woman in her 30s who adored her life living with her sister and best friend Evie. However, when Evie rushed into an engagement after only six weeks and made Nina her maid of honour, Nina was floored. Forced to reconcile with her sister’s impulsive decision, Nina grappled with what this new challenge meant, which led to a surprising journey of self-discovery, saw her explore her own love interest and consider a move away from her hometown for a job promotion. At its core, Dinosaur is a series about sisterhood, love, friendship and being yourself, no matter how uncomfortable that might make others.
Alongside Ashley, series one starred a stellar lineup of cast including Kat Ronney (The Royal Mob) as sister Evie, David Carlyle (It’s a Sin) as brother Bo, Greg Hemphill (Still Game) as dad Ade, Sally Howitt (River City) as mum Diane, Lorn Macdonald (BEATS, The Lazarus Project, Bridgerton) as love interest Lee, Danny Ashok (Roadkill, Capital) as Evie’s fiancé Ranesh and Sanjeev Kohli (Still Game) as Ranesh’s father Sachin.

Dinosaur was commissioned by Jon Petrie, Director of BBC Comedy and Louise Thornton, Head of Commissioning for BBC Scotland. It is based on an original idea by Matilda Curtis and was co-created by Matilda and Ashley Storrie.
The Executive Producers are Sarah Hammond, Harry Williams, Jack Williams and Katie Churchill. The Director is Niamh McKeown and the Producer is Brian Coffey. The BBC Commissioning Editors are Emma Lawson and Gavin Smith.
