Ocean Outdoor has announced a series of senior leadership changes to take the company into its next phase of growth.
To strengthen performance across the group, incoming group CEO Stephen Joseph has announced three key promotions. Phil Hall becomes group chief commercial officer, a new role he will hold alongside his current UK CEO position. Current group head of finance Billy Byam-Cook becomes group chief Ffinancial officer, working with Phil to oversee commercial contracts and cross border agency relationships, and chief revenue officer Nick Shaw is promoted to UK chief commercial officer.
Taking on wider roles, CMO Richard Malton becomes group chief marketing and strategy officer whilst head of brand and events Helen Haines becomes director of strategic marketing. The changes are effective from 1 January 2025.
Joseph said: “Our new senior leadership team brings together some of the best experience and expertise in the business, continuing our strategy to be the first choice DOOH advertising business for clients, agencies and landlord partners.
“As we embark on a new period of organic and M&A growth, the team will focus and align best practices across our core disciplines of sales, marketing, asset development and technological innovation, plotting our new and exciting journey together for 2025 and beyond.”
Headed by business unit CEOs Phil Hall, Anders Axelsson, Xavier Tilman and Christopher Samsinger, Ocean currently operates in seven countries, employing 300 people. The past 12 months have seen significant investment in the company’s brand experience and innovation team, Ocean Labs, and in-house creative production and consultancy department, Ocean Studios. These are led by Catherine Morgan, group managing director of Ocean Labs, and group creative director David Tait, who alongside Steve George as group chief development officer, complete the group leadership team.
